We are able to provide the full range of dental procedures under our high level of safety and infection controls with additional measures for COVID-19
We want to assure you that the safety and well being of individuals is our main priority.
Under normal circumstances we operate under Australian Dental Association Guidelines for Infection Control. During the COVID-19 pandemic additional protocols are required to minimise the risk of exposure to patients and staff. These include;
Headache
Fatigue
Sore throat
Cough
Chest discomfort
Difficulty breathing
Runny nose
Your dental appointment will be rescheduled if you answer positively to any screening questions.
When dentists and hygienists work on your teeth with a drill or scaler, they can produce aerosols (droplets of saliva or blood that are airborne). Our Dental Team is used to following stringent infection control precautions under normal circumstances to lower the risk of transmission of infectious respiratory or blood-borne diseases. These are known as Standard Precautions and help keep both patients and the dental team safe because it assumes all patients may have an infection.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, there is an increased risk of aerosols carrying the virus as the virus live in the upper respiratory tract and can either directly infect dental staff, or land on surfaces in the surgery , which staff or the next patient can touch.
This transmission may be possible even if you feel well, as not everyone with the virus has symptoms.
